Minnesota’s Most Controversial Piece of Land

MN90: Minnesota History in 90 Seconds

Listen to the Story

I produced this radio spot for MN90: Minnesota History in 90 Seconds, a collaborative audio project from the Minnesota Historical Society and AMPERS.

The one million acres of land and water bordering Minnesota and Canada called the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, or BWCA, is one of the largest protected wilderness areas in the United States. Preservation of the BWCA began in 1902. Still today, restrictions for the area continue to draw the ire of industrialists and others who advocate for development, motorized traffic, and other uses.

My roles: Reporting & research, interviewing, field recording, scriptwriting, narration, sound design, sound editing & mixing, final engineering for broadcast
