Exploring the Polar Ice with Ann Bancroft

MN90: Minnesota History in 90 Seconds

Listen to the Story

I produced this radio spot for MN90: Minnesota History in 90 Seconds, a collaborative audio project from the Minnesota Historical Society and AMPERS.

Imagine it’s early spring… But it’s 70° below zero and you’re on skis. There’s nothing around but ice and polar bears. You’re pulling a sled twice your weight, you haven’t had a shower in months, and a stick of butter is on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. That’s what the days and nights are like for polar explorer Ann Bancroft.

My roles: Reporting & research, interviewing, field recording, scriptwriting, narration, sound design, sound editing & mixing, final engineering for broadcast
